Diamonds
All iLoveDiamonds products are set with the finest cut Natural Diamonds. The value of a diamond is determined by its natural rarity and finished quality. Even experts need powerful analytic tools to detect synthetic treatments and enhancement processes. A certificate clearly discloses the details of any item it accompanies, providing confidence for both the buyer and seller.
Diamonds should only change hands when accompanied by a certificate attesting to their quality. Regardless of location or marketplace, an authentic Laboratory Report is the common language of trust and confidence in the Gemmological world and should be considered an essential part of any transaction. We take this responsibility very seriously. All products sold at iLoveDiamonds will be accompanied by Gemmological certificates from internationally recognized laboratories like IGI, EGL and SGL.

Diamond Shapes used in our Jewels
Round Brilliant Cut
Around three-quarters of all diamonds sold are Round Brilliant – this shape is renowned for its unrivalled fire and brilliance. The Round Brilliant diamond was originally developed by Marcel Tolkowsky, shape has 57 facets comprising 33 facets on the crown and 25 on the pavilion.

TIMELESSLY BEAUTIFUL
Simple, classical, beautiful – the round brilliant is the diamond equivalent of a rose. The angle of every facet has been precisely calculated to reflect the lightest, creating a stunning, scintillating display from even the smallest amount of movement. Its simple elegance needs no fancy setting, which is why the single round brilliant solitaire continues to be the most popular style of engagement ring.
Princess Cut
A Princess Cut diamond is the second most popular diamond shape and is fast growing in popularity due to its clean lines and glamorous amount of sparkle. It combines a unique faceting style with sharp, uncut corners and an ice cool design.

GRACEFULLY MODERN
A Square is the new Round. Though technically the Round Brilliant is better optimized to reflect the maximum amount of light, the Princess Cut comes very close and is an excellent choice if you’re looking for the ultimate sparkler. It’s perfect for those who want the fire of a Round Brilliant in a less traditional form.
A Princess Cut diamond is also sometimes known as a Square Modified Brilliant Cut. It typically has 57
facets – 21 on the crown, 4 on the girdle, and 33 on the pavilion, although Princess Cut diamonds with
only 25 facets on the pavilion are also common.
Heart Cut
CURVACEOUS AND LOVELY
It’s hard not to fall in love with the smooth sparkling curves of the Heart Shape Cut. Graceful yet playful, romantic yet bold, a heart shape diamond’s simple, elegant design radiates with fiery brilliance and is a stunning alternative to a Round Brilliant.

As the ultimate symbol of love, a heart shaped diamond is a popular choice for engagement rings, and the perfect way to remember a romantic Valentine’s Day proposal. This shape is also often paired as earrings or set into a pendant to mark a special anniversary.
Yet for some, a heart shape diamond is too obvious and, of all the diamond shapes, is the one most likely to evoke a love/hate reaction. If you’re buying as a surprise – especially as an engagement ring – be sure the person you’re buying for really will LOVE it.
With the heart-shape, symmetry is paramount so it’s vitally important to choose a diamond with an excellent or good cut rating. Opt for a colour grade of G or higher as in lower grades, colour can be concentrated at the tip and cleft.
The Heart Shape Cut is a brilliant cut which typically has 57 facets, of which there may be 6, 7, or 8 main facets on the pavilion. Its triangular and kite-shaped facets give it as much fire, brilliance and scintillation as a Round Brilliant or Princess Cut
Marquise Cut
Slender, sensual, enigmatic: there is something quite mystical about the Marquise Cut. Although it originated in France, its shape conjures visions of exotic palaces full of Eastern promise, and within its delicate form it possesses a strength of beauty at once dazzling and modest. Following the Round Brilliant, the Princess Cut and the Emerald Cut, the Marquise is probably the fourth most chosen shape. Its long, narrow outline naturally complements the shape of the finger making it a popular choice for engagement rings, with or without side stones. Because of their length, Marquise Cut gems need enough depth to give them their stunning brilliance.

Diamonds that are too shallow allow light to pass through the base which makes the stone appear dull. The Marquise is a brilliant cut which, like the Round Brilliant, means it is made up of 57 triangular and kite-shaped facets (33 on the crown and 24 on the pavilion). This gives it an outstanding capacity for fire and brilliance. Unlike a Round Brilliant, the pavilion of a Marquise may have 4, 6, or 8 main facets.
Pear Cut
A graceful sweeping curve tapers to a fine point
DELICATELY DISTINCTIVE
Delicate, striking, and always impeccably presented, the pear shape cut is perhaps the most feminine of all the diamond shapes. A pear shape diamond is always stunning without being showy – a slender, sparkling teardrop that speaks volumes about the wearer’s exquisite taste.

The pear shape cut also offers remarkable flexibility and choice. It works just as well in a pendant or a pair of drop earrings as it does in an engagement ring. A pear shape diamond is beautiful whether it’s voluptuously wide, narrow and slender, or perfectly poised between the two. And you can choose to wear it with the tip facing up or down or even opt for a modern horizontal setting.
The pointed tip of a pear shape diamond can cause any trace of colour to be concentrated. Choosing a stone with a colour grade of H or higher will ensure your diamond looks crystal clear from base to tip. Also known as a pendeloque or teardrop cut, the pear shape cut has a rounded end and a single point. In shape terms, it’s the subtle blending of a Round Brilliant and a Marquise. Like other brilliant cuts, the pear shape has 57 facets. There may be between 4 and 8 pavilion main facets.
Baguette Cut
A hint of Vintage and Contemporary Have you heard of the baguette cut diamond? It’s not a diamond cut you hear about often, and certainly not as a center stone, yet they’re more common than you think. The perfect accent for any sparkling centerpiece, the baguette cut manages to be both vintage and contemporary, reminiscent of the Art Deco period while also echoing the clean lines of modern minimalism. Diamonds come in many different beautiful shapes. Many people know the common diamond shapes such as round cut, emerald cut, and cushion cut, but a lot of people are not familiar with the baguette cut.

The baguette cut diamond has a long, rectangular shape and is cut with 14 facets. This shape belongs to the “step-cut” family, which also includes emerald and Asscher cut diamonds. Baguette diamonds are often used as side or accent stones instead of being featured as the center stone. Why? These diamonds are very thin and complement almost every other diamond shape, without detracting from the beauty of your center stone. They can also be cost-effective, as the long cut can provide more bling for a thin band (as opposed to multiple, more costly diamonds in a pave or channel setting.) It’s also common to wear baguette diamonds on an eternity band. Due to their narrow and elongated shape, they look elegant and sophisticated when placed in an eternity band setting.
